Two Weekends Before Christmas (Friday & Saturday)

On Friday night the younger kids stayed home with a babysitter while Ben and Cat attended the Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert with Kelli O'Hara and Richard Thomas.  Fun was had by all!

We all got up early Saturday morning to watch Eliza's first gymnastics meet with her new team.  She did a great job and it was so fun to see her showing off the skills she's been working on for months!

That evening we enjoyed another big event: Jack's theater performance!  He started attending a local theater group's after school classes in the fall and they prepared several numbers for a December Showcase with the theme of music from the movies.  They sang, they danced, and they even had small speaking parts.  Jack had a lot of fun with the group and decided to stay on with them in the spring, when they'll put on a full production.

For the showcase, Jack's age group sang and did choreography to "I'm on Top of the World," "Happy," and "Holiday Road."  They also sang "Somewhere Out There," but since there was no choreography I did not make a video.

The entire group also performed "Somewhere In My Memory," and "This is The Greatest Show."

When we got home that night, the girls helped me make gingerbread (graham cracker) houses while we watched a cheesy Netflix Christmas movie.  I loved it.  And the houses turned out great, with only a few burns from the burned sugar method we were using for the first time (which worked really well).
