It always amazes me how one day can make a world of difference. You're one age, and suddenly, you're an entire year older just a day later. Kids become completely different without changing at all. This little guy went to bed as a baby...
...and when he woke up, he wasn't a baby anymore. He hadn't changed in the night, but with the rising of the sun a chapter of our lives closed. (What's funny is that Jack expected noticeable changes when Luke turned a year old. That morning he said, "Luke! Talk!" and was very disappointed when Luke continued to babble as he'd been doing for months. We'd told him over and over again that Luke will talk when he's older, after he turns one. I guess we should've phrased that differently.)

"Good morning, World! Guess who's all grown up?!? Me!!" |
We didn't do anything too exciting for Luke's birthday, but we did try to make it special by letting him do some of his favorite things.
Eating bananas and kiwi for breakfast. |
Playing at the park with Big Sis Numero Dos. |
Standing up and playing with the LeapFrog Table. |
Talking to loved ones on the phone. Okay, mostly he listened. |
Climbing up the stairs. |
Practicing walking with Big Sis Numbero Uno. |
Enjoying the contents of the fridge. |
Posing for pictures.
(Or, maybe that's one of Mommy's favorite things?) |
Taking a bath, post-cake. |
We had fun with a little family party for him in the evening. For dinner we had foods Luke likes - baked chicken tenders, white & sweet potato fries, and strawberries, which we all ate with our hands, Lukey Style.
Eliza isn't in the picture because she was having a tantrum in her room at the time.
It happens. |
"Is it time to open presents yet???" |
CAKE!!! |
"Hmm. What is this stuff?" |
"Not bad." |
"Need milk. Daddy! Please share!" |
Happy Birthday Lukey Chukey!
How fun! I laughed out loud and enjoyed the whole thing so much. Felt like I was there seeing it for myself. Thanks for sharing.
