Cheap Entertainment

When I went outside to load the kids up to take Cat to school on Friday, I noticed a school bus stopped right in front of our house. I checked to make sure there was enough room on the road for me to pass it on my way out, then didn't think too much of it.

When we got home from dropping Cat off, Jack was really interested in the school bus.

Eliza noticed it too.

But it became downright entertaining when a really big tow truck arrived to jack the bus up so that they could change a tire. He was mesmerized.

He watched the bus and tow truck for about 15 minutes. And we may or may not have called the doctor we had an appointment to see and told them that we were running late. Because, really, a boy should be able to enjoy this kind of experience. And a Mom should be able to enjoy the quiet.

  1. That is awesome! There are few things that can naturally entertain boys, and this one was DEFinitely worth a late trip to the doctor :)

Is it weird to say I'm jealous??? Maybe a bus will break down in front of OUR house! Porter would be SO EXCITED!

(This would be better/safer than the 911 call that ended with ambulances and fire trucks across the street a few weeks ago. Porter was ecstatic, but it was kind of hard not knowing what was going on, and hard to explain to him why they were there and who they were helping!)
