He loves to zoom around our house, mostly on our tile hallway/motor speedway on his knees, with a toy car/train/tractor/truck/helicopter/bus in each hand. He's logged so many miles on some of them recently, that apparently they needed to be laundered. This is what I found in our dirty clothes hamper this morning:
Cat: The Sound of Music. I first started playing the CD for her in the car a few weeks ago because I thought she'd like "My Favorite Things," and she was hooked immediately. I was really proud of her that as soon as she heard Julie Andrews' voice, she said, "That's Mary Poppins!" Atta girl!
Last week I let her watch the first half of the movie, and she loved it too. She now asks to watch it several times a day, and she's learning the songs. This was the kids tonight after dinner and baths:
(Yes, of course she's wearing a leotard and tutu. What else would you sleep in??)

a) You're Adorable.
ReplyDeleteb) I'm really impressed and excited by how much you've blogged since your 2 month hiatus. Making up for lost time?
c) Your new baby barely makes it into the posts. She not interesting yet?
d) You have the Thomas songs memorized?
e)Jax is practicing to be civil engineer like his dad. Maybe he'll design rail roads.
f) I LOVE the pic of the kids.
g) I can't wait to see her singing video. Seriously.
I don't know what was my favorite .... Cat's energizer bunny version of the song (it keeps going and going...which now that I think of it, it kinda does in the movie ... they have at least three costume changes throughout the song, don't they?) or her adoring fan (Jack) scooting out of the way of her fancy tappin' shoes. Such cuties! (Elena keeps saying: "Kitty Cat again!" so she's a fan, too.)
ReplyDeleteThat's funny...it reminded me of "The Song that Never Ends" from the Lambchop show my sisters use to watch. Jack was such an attentive audience member too! You really need to let her take dance class mom, she's a natural! I love that movie, but thought Ashlyn was to young for it...maybe I'll try. She's really into Wizard of Oz right now though. Maybe I'll try Annie first.
ReplyDeleteJust finished watching Cat sing. Jack is awesome. It's also awesome how you're trying not to laugh. And Cat's marching. That might be my favorite part. Or that she keeps repeating herself as the Energizer Bunny of Do-Rainy. Maybe Ben prompting her on the right words to a Sound of Music song. Oh its just so hard to pick a favorite part!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to wonder if Jack and the Boy were twins separated at birth.
ReplyDeleteAmen with anything that goes vroom!
And those kids watching Sound of Music! Maybe you and I were separated at birth!
I LOVE IT!! My goodness, I miss them! Thanks for sharing. Made my day!
