Thanksgiving Day was pretty low-key. Luke helped me make pumpkin pies and Mema and Ben peeled and sliced apples for my apple pie. I also had some help with the peanut butter fudge pie. For breakfast Devon made an actual mountain of French toast and a hill of sausage, which was delicious.

Luke enjoyed getting creative with his crust. |
We were so thankful that the weather cleared on Thanksgiving, shifting overnight from being cold and cloudy/rainy to warm and sunny. It was perfect for the other thing Devon was really excited about: a Turkey Bowl. We drove to Anastasia State Park, a beautiful beach nearby, and battled it out with a game of touch football. John, Sarah, Dayna, Cat, and Luke defeated Ben, me, Devon, and Jack by one goal. Papa was our ref. It was super fun. Liza still wasn't feeling well so she didn't play with us, but she stayed busy by taking over 400 pictures using my camera. Here are some favorites:

He grabbed the ball when it was out of play and ran to the goal line. |

I actually caught it a couple of times! |

I'm more of a basketball player so my defensive strategies look weird in football. |

I think Luke is trying to block Ben in this picture. |

Holding. Yeah, you're not supposed to do that. |

Cat was sweet-talking the ref. I'm pretty sure that's why they won. |
Back at the house we got our feast ready. We had meat and a couple of sides from Honeybaked Ham, then D&D made mashed potatoes, Sarah made stuffing, John took care of the Sister Schubert's rolls, and Cassy perfected the cranberry sauce. It was great!
After the meal we had some time to just hang out. The boys took advantage of the hot tub, we took a few pictures at the beach, then ate pie while we watched Disenchanted on Disney+. A great day!
