First Real Snow

We had a dusting of snow in October but early in November we got the first real snow of the season. It started as rain in the morning, but turned into a steady snow by midafternoon. Luke doesn't like wearing jackets or coats to school - he insists that his uniform sweatshirt is sufficient even when it's below freezing - but luckily he'd taken his puffer jacket that day and I didn't feel too bad for him when I picked him up after school. I did make him hot chocolate, though.

I had hot water ready for the other kids to make hot chocolate when they walked home from school a little later, too, and we even got a bonus kid at our houes for a little while. On the way to the door, snowballs were thrown and there might have even been some snow-wrestling, but everyone made it in the house with no signs of frostbite or hypothermia, then drank hot chocolate and played a game of Memory.

It was a good afternoon.
