St. George Visit

The younger kids and I made a quick trip to St. George between the Nauvoo trip and school starting. We were so excited to hang out with Suz's family and see two shows at Tuacahn! We had nice warm weather and enjoyed some time at the pool and lagoon, some time to hang out and play and watch movies, and two wonderful musicals. Both families had been a little sick so we shortened the trip by a day, but we wore masks indoors and everyone was fine.  It was a great little trip, if only shorter than we would have liked.

Originally, Cat and Ben were going to come too but Cat had to stay home because soccer season started during the scheduled trip, and Ben had an important executive visiting at work and couldn't work remotely.  We were really sad that they couldn't come, but at least we were able to use the extra tickets to invite other people we care about.  Our former neighbor, Teri, came to Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story with us and brought another friend.  And my aunt and uncle joined us for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Buddy was so good!  I learned a lot about Buddy Holly and loved
the music and seeing all the talented musicians playing a variety of instruments.
Then we met the actor who played Buddy Holly and chatted with him for a while.
It didn't bother me that he told the kids he wished he hadn't quit piano lessons...

It cracks me up that Teddy smiles for pictures, and that when he
sits on his tummy, his hind legs always do a spread eagle.

It was so fun to see David Archuleta as Joseph,
and the cast did a wonderful job!  We got a kick out of all of the fun
little surpirses in a show we already know and love.

Meanwhile, back at home...

Ben and Cat took the boat for a cruise Monday night.

And Cat's season opener was Tuesday afternoon
at American Leadership Academy in Spanish Fork.
She scored 6 goals and helped her team win 9-1.
