The Chicken Chronicles 9.11.20

This week the chickens made several new friends, starting with the missionaries!  The three Elders assigned to our stake (first time ever - they usually work with multiple stakes - but there are a lot more stateside missionaries right now because of COVID travel restrictions) came over to share a message with us and as we were sitting in the driveway chatting, Jack decided the missionaries needed to meet the chickens, so he started bringing them out to meet them.  The next day we hosted a cousin dinner and some extended family met the chickens for the first time too.

I caught the chickens eating tomatoes off of the vine - orange tomatoes.  They're not even waiting for the tomatoes to get ripe!  Who invited those chickens into our backyard anyway?

But we decided to keep them after we had our first 2-egg day.  Hooray!

At the end of the week, another neighbor complained about the noise Bandit makes.  I made the executive decision that we needed to try the No Crow Collar, so I placed an order, hopeful it would mute his crowing enough that it would no longer bother the neighbors.

And now I give you a slidehow of Jack with chickens (mostly Bandit):

The chickens turned up in our front yard - and in this case, across the street -
twice this week and we couldn't figure out why.  It turned out that
our side gate wasn't latching correctly.  But Jack enjoyed having a chance
to talk chickens with our neighbor, who was sweeping off her porch at the time.
