A few noteworthy happenings from the coop in the first week of August:
- We spotted Buttercup on top of the nesting boxes. (You can tell it's her in this blurry picture because she's the only one with a mohawk.)
- Our back neighbor was so annoyed about Bandit's crowing that she yelled at Jack across the fence.
- Ben walked around to meet this neighbor and her husband, hoping to smooth some ruffled feathers (pun intended). We think it helped a little - and we know that she remembered Ben's name because in the future she would call his name first, before yelling about the rooster.
- We discovered that the chickens like blackberries. They walk around under the branches of our volunteer bushes and eat the berries right off the branches.
