Our second week of Social Distancing was better, thanks in large part to trying out a friend's suggestion that we use a block schedule. I'd contemplated a schedule but of course I was overcomplicating it, trying to figure out who should be working on which subject at what time, etc. The block schedule kept things really simple while giving us some much-needed structure. I also started writing the date on the board in the kitchen, mostly because Luke kept asking me what day it was. This week, Eliza started having regular Zoom meetings with her class.
Eliza's art assignment was to design a house. |
She drew out her dream backyard too. |
Non-homeschool highlights included:
Animal theme art walk. |
We measured out the lengths of different animals and marked them on the sidewalk in front of the house. |
Nighttime Nintendotime |
The kids came up with a super fun and super safe game of sliding down the stairs on blankets. |
The kids and I got out of the house and hung out in Provo Canyon for a while.
Provo River |
Rock climbing at Timpanogos Park |
Frisbee in the park |
Luke invented a game called Groundhog - it's Capture the Flag + Hide and Seek + Tag |
Looking across the street on March 26th. |
GoNoodle break |
Checkers is harder than I thought... |
Luke's first meme. |
We had a fun campfire dinner Saturday night at Battle Creek. After dinner we took a few minutes to talk about The First Vision in preparation for General Conference the next weekend. |
