Jack and two cousins on Ben's side were all born within 4 months of each other, in the same year. And they all live within 45 minutes of here. And they were all due to be ordained Deacons in the Aaronic Priesthood at the beginning of January. So Mema and Papa planned a quick trip to Utah to witness/participate in those ordinations. We enjoyed getting some time with them on Sunday and Monday!
Sunday after church we had some time to talk, practice using Papa's new phone, and get dinner started before everyone arrived for the ordinations. Unfortunately, one of the families who would have participated were sick, so they had to stay home. But Zerin and his family came over, along with our Bishop and Jack's Deacons quorum advisor for the ordinations in the afternoon. It was wonderful, and I'll talk more about it in a later post.
After the ordinations and some pictures we had a yummy dinner, then taught everyone how to play Throw Throw Burrito. We also discovered that Zerin is almost taller than Mema.
My favorite part of this picture is Papa giving Michael bunny ears. |
On Monday we checked the kids out of school early so they could have some time to hang out with Mema and Papa. We had a quick visit to the Bean Museum at BYU before bringing Mema to piano lessons with us, and Papa went shooting with Ben. Eliza was able to join them for shooting for a bit after her lesson, too. Then it was back to our house for dinner and goodbyes. Mema and Papa flew out early the next morning. Thank you for coming to visit - we loved it!
