Everyday Stuff - February Edition

Hee hee hee.

My kids haven't wanted to eat apples lately, so one day I decided to use the tried and true Mom method of cutting food into shapes to get your kids to eat it.  I cut thin slices of apple and used my set of Pampered Chef cheese cutters (which I don't think have ever been used for cheese...) to cut a few shapes.

Success!

Can you GUESS what I found in my sunglasses case?
Cheerios, of course.  At least they were in a bag.

I love waking up to messy-haired pajama-clad kids sharing tickles and giggles in the morning!

I'll give Eliza credit for finding a convenient place to keep her sippy cup, if not the most practical...

Jack and I made a rocket from a paper towel tube while Eliza took a nap one day.  The top right picture in the collage showed what the rocket looked like by the end of the day.  But it was fun while it lasted!

Eliza has used many items as a phone to talk to her Aunt Suz, but using the Kindle Fire is probably my favorite.

That kind of day.  I've had 'em too.

Are you getting tired of seeing pictures of things my kids have spilled?  I think this was cinnamon.  And I'm pretty sure it was Eliza again, but I don't remember for sure.

Why pick up spilled Cheerios and throw them away when you can eat them... off of the floor?!?

When I was trying to keep Eliza entertained at JoAnn's one day, I pointed out the footballs on these pieces of fleece and she responded with "Go Seminoles!"  Love that girl!  Her Daddy has trained her well.

So sweepy.

I saw this idea a while ago... just put a bunch of finger paint (or other paint) in a zip-top bag and let the kids use their fingers or some Q-tips to draw on the bag.  Jack and Eliza loved it in the morning, then when Cat came home from school I decided it might be a fun way to let her do some math practice.  She agreed!

Caught red-handed.  She brought the chair over so that she could climb onto the counter and get into the cupboard where we keep Ben's junk food stash.  Okay, I might have a few things in there too.

Why would he NOT eat our neighbor's spilled popcorn off of the sidewalk?

Looks like Cat was playing waitress again.

I don't care how tired I am.... I don't think I could ever sleep like that.

What can I say?  He's secure in his masculinity.  Ain't nothin' wrong with a boy playing with a pink Barbie laptop.  And ain't nothin' wrong with a boy crying when his sister tries to take it away from him.  I'm just saying...

  1. Oh my.

My love for Jack-Jack only grows.

    He is so very awesome!

And on the potty-training thing, the Boy is still in night diaps. My sister says is physiological and therefore not rational to expect little boys to be dry at night until their bodies have grown strong enough to hold it, or wake themselves up. So I am practicing patience with the Boy while he grows. I wouldn't worry about Jack. But daytime? We quit cold turkey too. It was a whole lot of naked boy in my house for about a week, but he never had an accident.

(He has them at nap time sometimes, but he's so patient with me, that I can't really be impatient with him.)
