The Birthday Celebration

Eliza had a fun birthday.  In the morning, Suz and I took Jack and Eliza to the indoor play area at University Mall.  It was the kids' first time there and they had a great time!

Then we had a little mid-afternoon party for Eliza after Cat came home from school.  Eliza gets super excited whenever she sees a dog lately, so we thought a dog theme for her birthday would be fun.  That cute wiener dog shirt that Suz made for Eliza's birthday picture?  All part of the plan.  So of course we played Pin the Tail on the Doggie during E's party.

Yes, Jack cheated.  He openly admitted to looking at where to put the tail.
But at least he won, so it wasn't for nothing.

E cheated too, but she didn't really understand the point of the game, so it didn't really matter.

 

Eliza was excited about the puppy dog cake I made for her.

And she dug into the fondant letters as soon as she could!

 Cat and Jack were as excited about presents as Eliza, if not more so.

But E was more interested in the green Slinky Cat bought her at the dollar store.

More dollar store presents!

but somehow Jack managed to play with the Slinky for a minute...

so by the time E was able to eat her cake, she knew that she had to hold on tight to her precious presents!

That night we dropped the kids off at our friend's house for our babysitting swap.  We shared the rest of the puppy dog cake with our friends there, along with some glow bracelets, so that the celebration could continue. :-)

Mema and Papa gave her a new walking, meowing, purring kitty cat.  But when Eliza hears the purring, she thinks the cat is pooping.  It's pretty cute.  

And, yes, she's wearing Jack's underwear in the video, which is another story.
