It's the Broncs and the Blood*

We had so much fun at the Days of '47 Rodeo!  The festivities began in the car as we jammed to some of my favorite country music of yesteryear (accompanied by a serious question as to why I don't listen to it more often).  We arrived early enough to get some fair food for dinner and ran into Amy's brother and sister!  We ate with them, then several members of the group took turns on the mechanical bull, which was entertaining for everyone.

The rodeo was awesome.  We loved the events, and especially the courage of the competitors in a very dangerous sport.  The time-killer acts were impressive, too, with an incredibly synchronized team of horses pulling a wagon and an entertaining dog and horse act.  Luke got into the spirit of gaudy western wear and Ben couldn't help but buy him the ugliest (dare I say rodeo-est?) hat in the gift hangar.  There were fireworks at the end, then we spent quite a while dancing it up at the after-party outside of the arena (at which time Luke got tired of his sparkly hat and I got a turn wearing it) before we finally headed back to the car to go home.

*It's the broncs and the blood, it's the steers and the mud, and they call the thing RODEO!
