SD Week 10 - End of the School Year!

Utah began the "yellow" phase of reopening on May 12th, but since we'd been traveling after Grammy's passing - first to SC, then to St. George - we decided to keep to ourselves for two more weeks after we got back.

Only, our household now included Suz's family.  They'd returned to the US quite suddenly and stayed with us while they began figuring out what the next chapter of their lives would look like.  So we were social distancing, together.

They LOVE playing with the chicks.

Cat was good enough to help me help Jack, on many occasions.

Cat commemorated in a different way.

Suz got my kids into a Chinese drama called "Love 020" -
and the girls were completely obsessed.

Suz enjoyed meeting the chicks.

The last few days of school felt like so many days of pulling teeth, but we made it to the end.  Jack finished first, and we enjoyed participating in his "drive-by" graduation and taking a few pictures.  Eliza and Luke had the opportunity to say goodbye to their teachers a couple of days later.  It definitely felt odd - less sentimental and ceremonious - but appropriate, and still fun.  And we were all thankful to be done with (home)school, and appreciated the closure.

Suz and I also took the kids on a little adventure, to see Poppy Field in Alpine.  It was much smaller than we expected, and more of a small sparsely wooded area with poppy-undergrowth than a poppy field, but it was still fun to see these cool flowers popping up, and to explore and take some pictures.
